OK, so I am working on scheduling a couple of more shoots before everyone (including myself!) gets entirely too busy with the Holiday season to spend their weekends in front of a video camera! Which means that our "big bar" scenes - the ones where practically *everyone* and extras need to be there - will be shot in January.

And as I was envisioning these scenes in my mind (us directors are always doing that!), something occurred to me: Bear with me as I explain...

This movie opens with four short scenes, one focusing on each main character. The scenes are incomplete - the audience knows something happened before to get to this point, but they don't know what.

These scenes are all supposed to occur the night before the main action takes place - a day later all of the main characters find themselves in the same bar and the story unfolds. But the point is, the opening sequence and the evening at the bar are only supposed to be one day apart.

Follow me so far? Good. Now I'll tell you that 2 of the opening scenes have already been filmed - one of them outdoors on a beautiful summer night. The girls are wearing pretty sleeveless dresses, the leaves are deep green by the glow of the candle light ...

Were you paying attention when I said I was going to have to film the bar scenes in January?

Notice the bare arms and green foliage - does this look like January to you?

Yeah, so I'm going to have to ask everyone in the bar scenes not to wear sweaters or flannel - extras coming in and out of the bar in the background can't wear coats ... no heavy boots, no winter clothing on anyone - because it supposed to be summer!!! :P

This is why people hate the Director. Well, at least the independent Director, who isn't even paying them for their troubles ...

But, what can I say? The show must go on! ;)
