Mike Rodgers offers his, butt....

After hearing that Luke Wilson used a professional body double during the filming of My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Mike Rodgers offered to do the same for any male in the cast whose cheeks are, um, less than chic. Turns out that "parts models" can make about $900 a day! The question is, where does the naked butt fit in? Who has a nude scene??!! Could this be the surpise hot tub scene? Is the Director trying to surprise not only the audience but the cast as well? It has been quiet on the set lately---too quiet.

Pretty Boys?! --Il sole New Jersey le ha cotto il cervello!

Translation: The New Jersey sun has cooked your brain!
My young friend and future Diva...True...they are pretty faces but, take it from Ava and me, those guys would have YOU at THEIR beck and call. Take it from Jordan, a "striking woman in her forties", there is nothing like an Italian lover who treats YOU like a goddess.

Omigod, Lauryn, Thank You SO Much ...

.... For reminding me to thank Buck Wheat!! How could I forget to thank that darling guinea pig who let us chop up his carrott for our scene. Thank you, Buck Wheat!

Only kidding Laur - sorry I forgot to give you mad props for your crazy boom mic skills! ;)

Lauryn puts up with being the "boom girl"

Grrr

What? I dont get a thanks? Your loyal assistant director, that despite what my bio says, was STILL your boom girl?! I feel so unloved and unappreciated! You'd probably thank buckwheat (the guinea pig) before you thought to thank me! We'll see how well you do without me there to point the mic towards Tonys mouth!! Grrrrr

Production Begins with a Bang!

Saturday and Sunday were our first two days of shooting. And all I have to say is WOW!

The actors really stepped up their game and I was just blown away by everyone's commitment. I know it isn't easy to do the same scene over and over, just so i can get all the shots I need. but everyone did it, time and again. Now I just hope my videography and editing skills are up to par enough so I can do their acting justice.

So, special thanks to:

Ilene - for letting us invade her house, rearrange her furniture and put garbage bags on her windows!
Stephanie - for forgetting about "lines" and channeling her own rage to create a performance that was real (but will be a bitch to edit!) :)
Connie - for her pitch perfect acting and complete professionalism
Amanda - for suddenly, out of nowhere, transforming from the sweet, respectable woman we know into a hysterical drug addict.
Mike - for always being "in the moment" and always looking for ways to give the script more meaning.
Vicki - for putting up with my tendency to prefer low-lighting.
and finally, to Tony, for the quote that sums it up, I think:
Tony (after we fininshed the first scene): "So, Kris, are you going to need to do it that many times for *every* scene?"
Kristen: "Uh, yeah, probabaly..."
Tony: "It's gonna be a long summer ..."

A long one, but a good one ... :)

Now, on to the next take!

Too Many Men, Too Little Time?

mmmm.... Oh, sorry, I was distracted for a minute ...

Now, Vicki, I ahh... "interviewed" each of those men extensively. And they know they can have any part they want, at any time. But, unfortunately, they were all previously engaged this summer. And I needed to get on with the production - I mean how often do I get such a stellar cast assembled, on a volunteer basis!

Hopefully, however, they will each be able to make a cameo appearance in the infamous "Hot Tub" scene, which will only be seen in the Special Edition Director's Cut of the movie.

So, Jake, Ewan, Johnny - give me a call. You have my number. ;)

The Hot Guy Debate

Personally this Gianluigi character is not doing anything for me. His hotness doesn't begin to approach the collective hotness of Jake Gyllenhaal, or Ewan Macgregor, or Johhny Depp...

Hot Actors

...all of whom were reportedly clamoring to be in kdot production's newest film, but you know Kristen and her insistence on casting "unknowns." She always wants to be the one to introduce new talent to the world.

Those Movie Stars - It Always Has To Be About Them!

I mean, really! Don't you think, if there is a hot tub scene, the Director should get to be in it?! It's hard work keeping all you actor-types in line! (Especially the ones with multiple personalities!!)

I think, as the Director, I need a nice relaxing soak after a hard day of bossing people around. The question is, who do I want to join me? Gianluigi is certainly an option. You know, I originally tried to cast him in the movie ... but he never returned my calls (go figure!)

I might just have to co-opt Jordan's Boy Toy for myself ...

;)

The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

WE (Ava and I) want to start a write-in campaign for a hot tub scene. Of course, we would leave the details (who is in the hot tub) to our Director. But, of course, the obvious choice would be Jordan and her Boy Toy or Jordan and the Italian Soccer Team or at the very least, Jordan and the Italian Team's Goalie, Gianluigi. Ciao, Baby!

the cast has all gone crazy (and stories of the casting couch)

Well, maybe not all of them. But most. (Read the entry by "Ava" if you don't beleive me...)

Anyway, yesterday I came home from spending the day in DC with my mom (she's been visiting and my sister and I have been taking her on fun little road trips) to some very goofy messages from my cast/friends/co-workers. They were all at a get together at my former bosses house, that I couldn't make because of my "mom" plans. And they are now obessesed with shooting in her hot tub, since she's volunteered her house as a location if needed.

Forget the fact there is no scene in a hot tub. :P

All I could do was laugh when I heard the messages... Really, I'm just flattered my movie is such a hot topic of conversation.

And that's not all - before production has even started I already have men coming into my office and taking off their clothes. Is this a reverse twist on the traditional casting couch scenario? And what kind of production am I running here where everyone just wants to take off their clothes and jump into hot tubs!?!

Below - evidence at the scene of the crime - a shirt discarded by one of the leading men - on my office floor!!

Ava Lives!

So, darlings, I understand that some of you think I bear no resemblence to Ava. HA! Why, I have been channeling the diva for years! We consider ourself to be tough, cynical and sexy but not easy to be with--which is why we drove Sinatra crazy. Now, excuse me while I get ready to play Jordan, a woman who obviously makes bad choices.

I get by with a little help from my friends!

Well, here it is, the first official blog on this site. And I already have so much to say!!

First, kudos to Vicki for her web design skills - she was the one who got this whole monstrosity up and running, and was very patient with my lack of knowledge about anything website oriented. Thanks Vick! I still owe you dinner (at least!)

Second, I am thrilled to say that after a lot of brainstorming and negotiating and help from Connie, we have a place to shoot our bar scenes!!! This was the thing I was worried about the most, since a little over half of the script takes place in "Joe's" bar and getting that much time in one place would be hard. But Parkside Studios has agreed to let us shoot there. The people were wonderfully supportive, the space looks fabulous, and we will be able to have the run of it while we're there shooting. That would be good enough to make this director happy, but there's more! As part of the barter, Tony is going to build a new bar in place of the old one they've already got in there. So I will have a brand new bar to shoot in. I love it when my friends are all multi-talented!

And, wait - even better than that, the band Prime Time (who totally rocked our last fundraiser!) will have a cameo in the movie!

I think it's safe to say this movie is off to an exciting start. Let's hope the streak of good luck and good people continues - especially since production starts next week! :)
